Hi,

I've been using rescene to rescene .iso's. Unfortunately as you know many still fail. I want to check I am doing everything I can to rescene them.

i check the CRC's against srrdb.com to make sure the CRC's match first

1. I let it run all the way through with no special settings using all the final release rars from 2.00 - 5.40 (my iso's were normally created between about 2006 and 2014) It runs through all the rars twice. First run through takes a while, 2nd run through can take a couple of hours to 8+ hours.

2. I try again using just the beta rars from around the time the .iso was created.

If I get 'no good rar found' is there anything else I can try? I have tried using the —mt-set command as well but have never found a good rar when adding this setting. (If I got a ValueError: still not fine —mt-set has so far always fixed it)

Actually when it comes down to it pyReScene has either found a good rar within the first 5 it has tried in the first run through the rars or it has never found a good rar. Is there anything else I can try.

P.S. on srrdb.com at the bottom of each release there is the box 'RAR Recovery' sometimes it says 'Not Present' and sometimes 'Present (Protect+)' are you able to explain these two possibilities? I couldn't find the info anywere on the internet.

I want to open a srr file but I don´t know how.
I have also a nfo and a sfv file. I hope that is useful.
In this file are many other files and I don´t know how can I get to the files.

Hi, I'm trying to use ReScene to recover mp3 files from an album: Bone_Thugs_feat_Eazy-E-BNK_(CDS)-1998-DJP from srrDB's site. I'm new to this and would just like to know if it's possible to recreate a sample (mp3) from these SRS files? This release does not have "RAR-files / Archived files / Video files / RAR Recovery" in the "RELEASE" information table, as almost every movie release I can see has. So I'm kind of confused, can I get the mp3 or flac files directly from the SRS files or is it only possible with the MKV files? Just to clarify also, I received the SRS file following the tutorial "ReScene: Recreating RARs of the video file". But only the files I received from SRR were the SRS, SRV and M3U playlist file for the Mp3s, not exactly the MP3s! :( Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

i want to recreate the sub files from a movie. When i have downloaded a movie and reconstructed the files, there is always a folder named Subs with a (releasename)subs.srr and a (releasename)subs.sfv. I am not able to recreate the sub files with these files. Has anyone a solution for this problem?

This was working awhile ago.

I am absolutely new to rescene although i have been using torrents as well as soulseek to get my media for years now. I am trying to reconstruct 2 rare RARs and i cannot seem to find any way to get these files other than srrdb. however i am confused as to where i need to start. It seems as though the Rescene program is no longer available to download except this website has a version of pyReScene. i am extremly unsure as to how to even install this program. is there any way that i can download the rescene program which seems to be a bit more user friendly? is the only this i need to reconstruct the 2 rar files the srr files which i found on srrdb? again i am extremely new to this type of stuff and am by no means a computer wizard so please excuse me if these are basic questions. any information that i could understand would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

Got this error today. Searched the forums and whilst some were similar this one is a little different. The working rar is 4.11 not 2.XX. Also this release consists of 3 files and the first 2 rescene just fine. It only fails when it comes to do the third file and is unable to create the pyReScene_compressed.rar file even though it has done that successfully each time it did the first 2 files. (I'm using pyReScene 0.7)

I don't understand why i have this CRC Error. I use 7zip 16.04 version, and some other files in this same season like " Crossing.Lines.S01E02.FRENCH.BDRip.x264-JMT" workings well but 01,05,08,09 have the same trouble. And i have encoutered the same problem with some other files so i really need to understand why.

pyautorescene works when I ask it to reconstruct .mkv, .exe, .dll, and .subs/.idx files. However, it have a weird problem when trying to reconstruct an .iso release.

Replace (dot) with an actual dot.

Why does that happen? How come it can find RAR executables when reconstructing all other releases, but when it comes to .iso releases, it can't find them? They are already on the system PATH. I also tried putting them inside the pyautorescene folder, the pyRescene folder, the C:\ drive, the user folder, the release input folder, and the release output folder. I tried the same thing with UnRAR with no luck.

Hi there. I've been trying to convert .srs files into .flac or put it in .rar, I did all things in cmd, put all neccesary files in current folder, but some reason it doesn't worked. And always the same error: "Could not locate MKV, AVI, MP4, WMV, FLAC or MP3 data in file". I'll appreciate any help.

I'm getting an error when reconstructing most releases consisting of multiple CUE/BIN images. More precisely, this error happens if the script has to use method2 on an archive then it fails when it moves on to the next one. I suspect it's due to something not being reset properly between archives since this issue can be bypassed by using partial SRRs.

Which is the latest working 5.* line winrar, if there is one?
